Katie received her Bachelor of Kinesiology degree with a minor in Economics from McMaster University.  Katie joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2005.  Katie has completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Conduct Practice Handbook Course, Wealth Management Essentials Course, the Canadian Insurance Course, the Derivatives Fundamentals Course and the Options Licensing Course. Katie enjoys an active lifestyle and especially enjoys competing as an amateur golfer.  Katie grew up in Barrie, where she currently resides with her husband Brandon and her two children.

Cheryl joined our team as a financial planner in the fall of 2019.

She received her Bachelor of Commerce Co-op degree from Dalhousie University. In 2001 joined RBC Royal Bank in Halifax, completed the Professional Financial Planner course through the Canadian Securities Institute and became a licensed Financial Planner. Over the next 18 years she traveled Canada and held this Financial Planner position with RBC in Yellowknife, St. Catharines, St. John's, and Barrie.

Cheryl is a Barrie native but lives in Shanty Bay with her husband Darryl and their 2 children. Outside of work Cheryl enjoys golfing and skiing with family.

Garry T. Bard, B.A. (Hons.) LL.B., TEP

Garry received his LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He has a B.A. (Honours) in Music (classical guitar) from University of Guelph. Garry was called to the Ontario Bar in 1987. He has experience practicing estates law in private practice as well as with various financial institutions. Garry is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) as well as the Law Society of Upper Canada. Garry’s legal experience spans over 35 years and his law practice focused on providing proactive planning advice to both individuals and businesses with estate and succession planning concerns. Garry has been a resident of Simcoe County Innisfil/Barrie) for over 25 years. Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, he had been working as an Estate and Trust Consultant in Barrie for almost 10 years. Garry works closely with your advisor to provide you with information on structuring your estate in an efficient and tax effective manner. Following your meeting, Garry will provide you with a report outlining various estate planning issues for you to explore in further detail with your own lawyer or accountant.
