Karim's Story
Karim is a distinguished Senior Portfolio Manager at RBC Dominion Securities, renowned for his exceptional expertise and dedication to his clients. As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Financial Management Advisor (FMA), Karim brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record to his role. With over four decades of experience in the financial services industry, he has earned a reputation as one of RBC’s most accomplished professionals.
Karim’s career began in 1981 with a leading financial institution, and he joined RBC in 1987. Over the years, he has held senior positions in corporate treasury and RBC Private Counsel (now known as PHN Private Council). For almost 30 years, Karim has specialized in crafting tailored investment strategies and portfolios for high-net-worth individuals, families, private investment companies, athletes, and entertainers, helping them achieve their financial goals with confidence and clarity.
Beyond his professional achievements, Karim is a devoted family person who cherishes time spent with his loved ones. He likes to stay active by enjoying activities such as tennis, hiking , mountain climbing and martial arts. He is the proud father of two sons, Aqil, and Kiyaan, who are now part of Team Karim.
Born in Tanzania, Karim spent his early years there before moving to Canada in 1973 with his family as a young boy. His heritage is deeply rooted in the Spice Island of Zanzibar, where his father and grandfather were born, and in India, the birthplace of his mother. From a family of five who immigrated to Canada from Africa, Karim’s extended family has now grown to nearly thirty members, including nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces—a testament to the strong bonds and values that define his life.
