David is a trusted and dedicated co-leader of Johnston Wealth Partners with nearly three decades of financial services experience at RBC Dominion Securities. His people-oriented approach, down-to-earth demeanor, and in-depth knowledge of the wealth and investment landscape provide true peace of mind for clients and team members alike. He takes great pride in ensuring our clients feel safe to have honest discussions about their hopes, fears, and dreams for the future and stops at nothing to turn them into reality. In his day-to-day role as senior investment advisor, David spends much of his time cultivating these meaningful client relationships, developing actionable financial plans, and designing principle-based investment portfolios to help our clients and their families reach their long-term goals. A graduate of Lakefield College School and the University of Western Ontario where he earned his Bachelor of Arts, David continues to prioritize financial education and has completed several courses from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). As a licensed senior investment advisor, he sees it as his duty to keep a finger on the pulse of the markets and ensure our clients receive the best and most up-to-date wealth and investment recommendations possible. David is a true family man who prioritizes spending time with his wife and business partner, Catherine, and their three adult children outside of the office. An avid outdoorsman and self-proclaimed “adrenaline junkie,” he can be found boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting, and enjoying his classic cars, motorcycles, and snowmobiles. He and Catherine also like travelling to new and exciting destinations around the world.
Catherine’s 30-plus-year financial services career has been defined by her resilience, hard work, and commitment to her clients. Raised by a single mom who instilled the importance of budgeting and relied on her support in a variety of ways, Catherine quickly learned to be thoughtful in her financial decision-making – a mindset that sticks with her to this day as co-leader and wealth advisor at Johnston Wealth Partners. Day to day, Catherine is our team strategy lead and oversees the efficient and effective functioning of all processes, from in-depth financial planning to surveying the markets and building our portfolio models. Highly detail-oriented and analytical in her approach, clients appreciate her attentiveness to their needs and the ways in which she prioritizes them as people, and not just numbers, above all else. She is also very passionate about supporting women in times of crisis – personal or financial – and promoting financial literacy for the next generation. Driven and determined from a young age, Catherine recognized the importance of education to support her dreams and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Administration and Commerce from the University of Western Ontario. She then went on to obtain the highly respected Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) designation and was named a Fellow of Canadian Services Institute (FCSI), the pinnacle credential and highest honour in Canadian financial services reserved for those who show unparalleled leadership, integrity, and commitment to their clients. When not in the office, Catherine enjoys living an active lifestyle alongside her husband and business partner, David, and their three adult children. This often includes experiencing the natural beauty of Peterborough through running and hiking, practicing yoga, playing pickleball, and curling. Adventurous in her own way, she also enjoys travelling the world on their yearly trip to a new Canadian location or somewhere across the world.
Pamela’s financial services career began in 1995 where she worked at another leading Canadian financial institution for over 20 years before joining Johnston Wealth Partners in 2018. As associate advisor for our team, Pamela carefully reviews transactions, expertly supports with cash management, efficiently facilitates upcoming projects, and closely collaborates with our estate, trust, and corporate accounts. Appreciated for her exceptional client service skills as a first point of contact and natural ability to navigate the ever-changing nature of the industry, her true passion lies with getting to know our clients, determining their needs, and coming up with an actionable plan to help them achieve their goals. A graduate of Sir Sandford Fleming College with a degree in business administration (human resources), Pamela is committed to continuing education and constantly evolving her skills to better serve our clients. To that end, she has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH), Derivatives Fundamental Course (DFC), Options Licensing Course (OLC), and Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC) from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). Pamela has lived in Peterborough her entire life and is proud to call it home alongside her son, Parker. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, DIY projects around the house, and leading her monthly book club.
Stefan joined RBC in 2018 and held a variety of roles before joining Johnston Wealth Partners as an associate in 2023. His previous roles provided a strong foundation in client service and a deeper understanding of financial services including banking, credit, mortgages, mutual funds, and financial planning. As associate and first point of contact for our team, Stefan leverages his depth of knowledge to handle a variety of key administrative tasks, from new account openings and onboarding to placing trades and providing financial literacy education to our next generation of clients. He is truly passionate about forming lasting connections with our clients and providing a sense of security through his careful attention to detail and efficient service. Stefan is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in finance. In addition to completing several courses from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI), he has also earned the Designated Financial Services Advisor (DFSA) and Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designations, leading credentials for comprehensive financial planning in Canada. In his spare time, Stefan enjoys hiking in Peterborough and the surrounding area, working on home renovation projects, woodworking, and adding to his collection of coins as an amateur numismatist.
