History of Church & Dwight
Church & Dwight was founded in 1846 by two brother-in-laws, Dr. Austin Church and John Dwight. It all began when they started to prepare bicarbonate soda for commercial distribution in Mr. Dwight’s Kitchen. They packaged it by hand into paper bags. Church & Dwight is now the leading US producer of sodium bicarbonate, popularly known as baking soda, and has gone on to acquire many other brands.
I would be surprised if you didn’t have several of their brands in your home. The company has twelve key brands representing 80% of its consumer sales.
These twelve key brands include Arm & Hammer, Trojan, Oxiclean, Spinbrush, First Response, Nair, Orajel, Xtra, Vitafusion & L’ilCritters, Batiste, Waterpik, and Flawless.
This 170 year old plus company has paid a quarterly dividend for 120 consecutive years and is consistently increasing it.
Church & Dwight just increased their dividend by 5.2% from $0.24 to $0.2525 per share, equivalent to an annual dividend of $1.01 per share.
Please make sure you are replacing a box of Arm & Hammer baking soda in your fridge monthly to keep it smelling fresh and to keep that dividend growing!
