Tomorrow morning around 5:00 am, our family would have been piling into our minivan and starting our 18 hour drive to attend Berkshire Hathaway’s Annual Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska.

Unfortunately, shareholders are not allowed to attend the meeting this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This year we will be watching from the comfort of our home and unfortunately missing out on all of the activity that accompanies the meeting.

The annual meeting will be streamed live online by Yahoo starting with a pre-meeting show beginning at 4:00 pm eastern time and can be accessed at

This year it will be a little different with Warren Buffett and Greg Abel being the only ones physically attending to answer questions. If you are unfamiliar with Greg Abel, he is Berkshire’s Vice Chairman-Non-Insurance Operations and proud to say Canadian. Sadly, Charlie Munger will not be attending and he will be deeply missed as he always had great insight and sentiments to share or his famous: “I have nothing to add.”

I wanted to send a quick reminder to suggest that you watch the meeting if you can. Although I will have to forgo the peanut brittle and chocolates, I will certainly be tuning in.

Considering the unique circumstances and the first time this format has been used, I am not sure how long the question and answer period will last but I am positive you will not be disappointed in hearing what Warren Buffett has to say especially considering what is going on in the world today.

I will be sharing my thoughts after the meeting, but this is an opportunity to see history in the making once again.

“How will you replace your current income in retirement?”
