Just give me a reason

A song that my daughter (she's 10) used to love to sing when she was younger, a nice duet between Pink and Nate Reuss (I think that is how you spell that and I am too lazy to look it up right now), that had a totally different theme, but is almost in line with what I am talking about here. In the song, the couple is looking for a reason to "fix it all up" and " get back together" because the relationship is not broken.....just bent.

After last week and the early part of this week, that might be how you feel about your portfolio. Full disclosure..... I have had better weeks. Not because the phone is ringing off the hooks with panicked investors, but because it is virtually impossible to make heads or tails of what is going on in financial markets right now. A fed rate cut, when I don't believe one was needed was met with a resounding thud on the markets after an amazing comeback on Monday. A comeback for the ages really. Optically, I hated the move (missed opportunity for something more grandiose), and fundamentally, I beleive they may have fired the bullets a little early this time (if you actually believe any bullets were needed is another story altogether)

Anyway, I digress.....back to the song. So the couple wants a reason to stay together, and you are looking for a reason to stay invested. Well......how about I share this awesome chart with you (courtesy of Josh Brown and Michael Batnick --- Ritholz Investing in the US, and as you know Josh is one of my personal favorites!!). Josh mentions that Micheal keeps adding to it, and I am sure there will be a COVID-19 segment in there in the latest edition.

But look at the chart.......just look at it. So many reasons to sell, and a resounding reason to stay.........think about it, talk about it. Or just sing about it.
