Continuous Improvement Mindset. As one of the top wealth advisors at RBC Dominion Securities, Canada’s leading full-service wealth and investment firm, Rhonda remains committed to continuous improvement and leveraging her innovative thinking, results-driven mindset, and unwavering dedication for the benefit of her clients. Beginning her career as a student intern in 1994, she excelled in grasping the inner workings of the financial services industry and quickly found her passion. “I fell in love with the markets,” she says, “but most of all, I fell in love with the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting difference in people’s lives.” In 2002, with a five-month-old at home and a dream of forging new ground in wealth planning expertise and service excellence, Rhonda founded a practice of her own: Hymers Private Wealth.
As senior portfolio manager, wealth advisor and financial planner, Rhonda is proud to lead a team that serves some of the country’s most affluent families, Indigenous communities, healthcare professionals, sports professionals, and business owners. Dedicated to providing a family office approach, she works closely with clients to build a fully customized strategy that uncovers their needs, priorities, and goals and recommends the right investment, retirement, business succession, and estate planning solutions to address them. Rhonda is well respected by clients and colleagues alike for providing her undivided attention, taking complete responsibility for her clients’ financial well-being, and always looking forward. To that end, she prioritizes learning to stay ahead of the ever-changing industry and most recently earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designations, expanding her ability to offer specialized advice to entrepreneurs and business family clients.
In 2013, in recognition of her exemplary integrity, performance, and service, Rhonda became the first investment advisor to receive the RBC Leo Award – the highest achievable honour among 90,000-plus employees. In 2022, she was a recipient of the Women of Distinction Award recognizing her initiative, dedication, and leadership within the firm, and in 2023, she earned the coveted RBC Global Citizen Award for her commitment to giving back within her community.
Rhonda is grateful she can enjoy life and a rewarding career in the Okanagan. In her spare time, she spends quality time with her husband, Jason, and three children while giving her energy and resources to the community that has been so generous in supporting her success. Today, Rhonda is an active volunteer at KGH Foundation’s Perking Lot and a dedicated supporter of The Child Advocacy Centre of Kelowna, Make-A-Wish, The Bridge Youth, and other local charities focused on children, youth, and families.
