I hope this message finds you well and that you had a wonderful holiday season! As we begin the new year, I wanted to share a very special experience my family and I were fortunate to have over the holidays—a once-in-a-lifetime journey to Africa, visiting Rwanda and Tanzania.
Our adventure took us to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, where we embarked on a breathtaking gorilla trek. The experience of seeing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat was truly beyond words. The conservation efforts in the region are extraordinary, with dedicated teams working tirelessly to protect the critically endangered mountain gorillas and their environment. This work has not only safeguarded the gorillas but also created opportunities for local communities, making it a story of hope and resilience.
We also visited the deeply moving Genocide Memorial in Kigali, which was a humbling and emotional experience. It reminded us of the strength and resilience of the Rwandan people and the importance of learning from history to create a better future.
From Rwanda, we traveled to Tanzania’s Serengeti, where we experienced the thrill of seeing the “Big Five” up close, along with countless other incredible wildlife. The beauty of the landscapes, the vibrant cultures, and the warmth of the people made this journey truly unforgettable.
Above all, this trip provided my family with precious quality time together—an experience I will cherish for a lifetime. Enjoy the short video above.
As we begin this new year, I am reminded of the value of connection, whether it’s with loved ones, the natural world, or the people we meet along the way. I wish you and your loved ones good health, happiness and prosperity. I look forward to catching up with you soon.
