I wanted to provide a quick update on how we're responding to the B.C. wildfires here at RBC Dominion Securities in Kelowna.
As you know, we are experiencing a devastating wildfire season in B.C., and our thoughts are with everyone affected. We also want to express our gratitude to the people helping our communities in this time of need. Whether it's neighbors helping neighbors, community organizations providing food and shelter, or firefighters keeping us safe – thank you for being there for us.
Everyone on our team is safe, and we are grateful to report that although a few of us on the team were evacuated, nobody lost their home. Our hearts go out to those in our community who have lost their homes and remain under evacuation orders.
At RBC Dominion Securities, the safety of our employees and clients is our priority, and we are monitoring the situation closely. Our Kelowna office remains open at 1631 Dickson Avenue, Suite 1200, Landmark Square 6, and we are available to assist our clients in person or, if preferred, via phone or conference call.
At times like this, communities come together and lend a helping hand where needed. At RBC, we are donating to several charities in support of the wildlife response, including $25,000 to the Red Cross, $25,000 to the Central Okanagan Food Bank, and $10,000 to Mamas for Mamas. Local RBC branches are also collecting donations in support of the Red Cross.
With everyone's help, we hope that the wildfire situation will soon be under control, and we can move on to the work of recovery and healing. We are always here as a team to help and support you. If there is anything we can do, don't hesitate to contact us at 250-712-2148.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Hymers
