As a team, we stand in solidarity with Indigenous people and communities as we acknowledge the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools. We honour the lives lost, the survivors, their families and the communities affected. The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation is hosting a week of Every Child Matters programming that will feature short videos created by Indigenous storytellers, followed by conversations with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, survivors, and the children of survivors of residential schools. “You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.” – Michelle Obama
