2. Old “Friends” returning, with the “Friends” reunion special in March 2021.

3. Bright, cheerful colours everywhere – Pantone’s colours of the year are joyful yellows grounded in rock-solid gray.

4. The launch of the James Webb telescope and a new age of cosmic shock and awe.

5. An exciting year for movie-goers (“West Side Story,” “The Matrix 4” and more) with pent-up supply.

6. The Blood moon on May 26, 2021 over the skies of Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and the western U.S.

7. Disney World turns 50 and will unveil the Jurassic World VelociCoaster in Orlando and more.

8. The first tubeless automated insulin delivery system will be available for diabetics.

9. International singing competition Eurovision returns with great live music.

10. The Summer Olympics in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8, with four new sports added.

11. The Mars landing on February 18, 2021.

12. Big releases for the video game industry’s new consoles, including Halo Infinite.

13. The 25th anniversary of Pokemon.

14. The EU ban on single-use plastics takes effect in July 2021, a great win for the environment.

15. Live theatre is (hopefully!) back with Broadway expected to return in fall 2021 in New York City.

16. If you are a fan, recreational marijuana sales expand into four additional states in the U.S.

17. The World Expo in Dubai debuts in October 2021 with exhibits from over 190 countries.

18. Several hot companies are expecting to go public, including Instacart and Bumble.

19. Serena Williams’ run continues in February 2021 at the Australian Open in Melbourne.

20. “Brood X,” a group of billions of cicadas, comes out of hibernation to bring environmental benefits.

21. “Life After Death,” one of the year’s hottest books, will be released in March.
