Gilles began his career in accounting, quickly working his way up to become Partner of a major accounting firm in Canada. His passion for entrepreneurship led him to assume ownership positions in manufacturing and public works companies with worldwide operations. After a brief period working as a trader on the floor of the Montreal Stock Exchange, Gilles joined RBC Dominion Securities as an Investment Advisor in 1996.
 
Since joining the industry, Gilles has become one of the top advisors in Canada and has assembled a second-to-none team of experts in the field. More recently, Gilles obtained the Portfolio Advisor title, thereby allowing him to provide discretionary investment management services to his clients.  Furthermore, his dedication to client success has been recognized through various achievements and awards, including membership in the prestigious RBC Dominion Securities Chairman’s Council.
 
As the founder of the Gilles E. Richer Financial Group, Gilles is responsible for directing investment strategies and staying abreast of economic and market trends. He also monitors and reviews client portfolios, and conducts regular client portfolio reviews.
 
Outside of the office, Gilles is a long-time wine collector and strong supporter of the opera and Montreal Symphony Orchestra among other fine arts programs.
