In a year of grief and gratitude, of thinking global while supporting local, of showing care by staying away, we take a moment to share a few of the simplest things that brought us the most joy in 2020.

Simple things bring the most joy

If ignorance is bliss, awareness is a more complicated state and one we have a lot more of as we close out this exceptional year. In recognizing what we lost and what was broken, we also became aware of what we had, what still worked and even what we gained. Here are a few of the simple moments that brought our team joy this past year.

Unexpectedly switching to working from home has meant relaxed family mornings, coffee breaks on the porch steps and working with the window open. Connecting with my kids through the day with games of driveway tennis, shooting hoops and play fights on the couch brought joy and left happy memories.

I had more time to connect virtually with family and just seeing their smiling faces brings so much joy! Being stuck at home isn’t so bad at all as I can give more hugs to my husband and wake up each day realizing that feeling healthy is a gift!

- Kat

The girls and I would pack up a picnic, climb to the top of Citadel Hill and find a good spot to eat our supper, fly the kites and watch the sunset. These evenings were a great reminder that it truly is the simplest things that bring the most joy.

From our team to your family, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy 2021!
