Celebrating International Women's Day with a call for bravery over perfection and for each of us taking steps towards a gender equal world. #EachforEqual

Be the Hero IWD2020

The theme for this year's International Women's Day is Each for Equal and here at RBC our internal IWD Campaign is to Be the Hero and encourage people to share authentic stories and have real conversations about acts of courage and respect that foster inclusion.

Reshma Saujani, founder and CEO of Girls Who Code, is the keynote speaker at our Toronto event. Her TED talk 'Teach girls, bravery not perfection' is excellent food for thought about how we're raising our girls. The incredible growth and success of Girls Who Code is inspiring in its own right but it is her vision for a world where girls are socialized to be brave instead of perfect that really hits home. May we all have the courage to celebrate women's achievements and call out inequality today and every day.

Looking back, here are our previous International Women's Day posts: IWD2019 and IWD2018
