Darren specializes in tax and estate planning for high net worth families.

Prior to joining RBC, Darren was a tax partner with a national accounting and advisory firm where he focused on providing tax planning services to high net worth families and shareholders of privately held businesses. Darren guided clients through many of the complex personal and corporate issues faced by high net worth families and business owners by developing strategies for wealth preservation and tax minimization, the transfer of wealth to the next generation, and estate and succession planning.

Darren is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax Course, the Corporate Reorganization Course and the Tax Planning for the Owner Manager Course. Darren is a TEP designated member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Darren is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Prior to joining RBC in 2014, Zora spent over a decade with a mid-size Canadian accounting and business advisory firm where she focused on assisting owner-managers and their families with personal, trust and corporate tax planning and compliance. Zora focused on development and implementation of strategies for wealth preservation in the context of tax, estate and succession planning.

Zora, together with your primary RBC advisor, helps you to explore succession, tax, retirement and estate planning issues you face as a high-net-worth client. Zora specializes in tax and estate planning for business owners and high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families.

Zora received a Bachelor degree in Science from Simon Fraser University and a Master in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. Zora is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified General Accountant. Zora has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax Courses, as well as the Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner-Managed Business Course. Zora is also a TEP designated member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).

Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2012 and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Calgary in 2015. She was called to the Bars of both Alberta and British Columbia in 2016.

Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, Jessica practiced estates and trust law in downtown Vancouver, first at a mid-sized regional firm and later at a large international firm. Her practice focused on assisting clients with estate and incapacity planning, including the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Representation Agreements. Jessica also assisted high net worth individuals engaged in tax efficiency planning through the establishment, maintenance and reorganization of trusts and privately held corporate structures. In addition to her estate planning practice, Jessica advised executors, trustees and beneficiaries on estate and trust administration issues such as applications for representative grants, the administration of complex asset structures and passing of accounts.

Simi obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia in 2006 and earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Calgary in 2009. She was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2010. Simi completed the three-year CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course in 2015.

Following her call to the BC Bar, Simi practiced corporate law, estate and trust planning, and real estate law with a small Vancouver law firm before joining the tax group of a medium-sized firm in 2011, where she specialized in personal and corporate taxation matters, estate and trust planning and tax dispute resolution. She continued her practice of tax law and estate planning at the Vancouver office of a large international law firm before joining RBC. Her experience includes working in all areas of individual and corporate tax planning, business succession and reorganization, estate freezes, and trust planning.

Simi is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch) Wills & Trusts and Taxation Sections. She is also an executive member of the BC Women Lawyers Forum and was a member of the organizing committee for the 2015 and 2016 Ovarian Cancer Canada “LOVE HER” gala. Simi is fluent in Punjabi.

Nicole received her Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Dean’s List) in 1991 and her Bachelor of Law degree in 1999 from the University of British Columbia.

She clerked at the British Columbia Supreme Court from 1999 to 2000 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2000. Nicole has also completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth Tax Course.

Prior to joining RBC, Nicole practised law for ten years in downtown Vancouver, first at a national law firm and then at a boutique tax and trust law firm. Nicole’s practice focused on the implementation of tax and estate plans, Wills, domestic and offshore trusts, charities and business succession. Nicole is a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Canadian Bar Association Wills and Trusts Section and Charities Section. Nicole’s significant practical experience in estate planning allows her to offer valuable guidance in the development of your estate plan.

Grace received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia in 2000 and graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 2003.

She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2004. Prior to joining RBC, Grace practised law in Vancouver, specializing in estate planning and estate administration. Most recently, Grace worked at a hospital foundation advising the charity on legal matters as well as its donors on charitable giving.

Grace is a member of the Canadian Bar Association Wills and Trusts Section and Charities Section. She is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Prior to joining RBC, Eugene was a Tax Manager at one of the world’s leading accounting firms where he spent many years providing tax compliance and tax planning services to high net worth individuals, private companies and First Nations.

Eugene is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University. He has completed and tutored the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Course and completed the Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner-Managed Business Course.

Eugene believes that planning is critical to helping people meet their financial goals. Eugene’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting comprehensive Compass Financial Plans.

Inder is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and has completed the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia.
Prior to joining RBC, Inder amassed over eight years of experience in public practice at two distinguished and established accounting firms. As a Tax Manager she specialized in providing Canadian tax solutions to a wide range of clients and industries. Her experience includes tax planning, estate planning, and corporate reorganizations for high net worth families and business owners.
Inder’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting your Compass Financial Plan and to identify and assess any related financial planning concerns you may have.

Jamie is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) and has completed the Chartered Professional Accounts of Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia.

Prior to joining RBC, Jamie accumulated over ten years of experience in public practice, most recently as a Tax Manager with one of the leading international public accounting firms. His experience includes providing strategic professional tax compliance, personal and corporate tax planning and advisory services to high net worth individuals, private and public corporations, trusts and partnerships.

Jamie’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting your Compass Financial Plan and to identify and assess any related financial planning concerns you may have.

Since 1996, Janny Chan has brought a wealth of experience in the financial services industry to her role as Private Banker in Vancouver. She provides comprehensive financial management for private clients and their families throughout the West Coast.

Ms. Chan is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She provides in-depth financial advice to senior executives, business owners and their families, designing sophisticated banking, investment, and flexible short- and long-term credit solutions to meet their often-complex needs. Ms. Chan has been recognized with several awards throughout her career for her dedication to client service.

Working with a team of RBC specialists in Canada and in key markets worldwide, Ms. Chan is able to offer a complete range of services—including investments, business banking, estate planning, and domestic and international trusts—to meet each client's total wealth needs. She also consults with her clients' legal, tax and insurance advisors when appropriate, to ensure that each client's complete financial picture is being addressed.

Ms. Chan is a Personal Financial Planner and a Certified Financial Planner. She holds a Business degree with specializations in Finance and Management Information Systems from Simon Fraser University.

An avid volunteer with several community organizations, Ms. Chan also has an active family life. She is married and a busy parent to two young children.

Caillie Hayes brings more than 15 years of extensive experience primarily focused within Commercial Banking to RBC Wealth Management, Private Banking. As a private banker, Caillie provides comprehensive wealth management and financing strategies to high-net-worth business owners, executives, professionals and their families.

Based in Langley, BC, Caillie works with a select number of clients in the high-net-worth space to address their often-complex banking, credit and wealth management needs by providing tailored banking and financial solutions. Her goal is to deliver unparalleled service while building lasting relationships based on trust and a thorough understanding of each client’s unique needs and goals.

When necessary, she collaborates with specialists across RBC to provide clients with a complete range of complementary services. These services range from investment management to estate and legacy planning, and from domestic and international trust services to sophisticated credit and leverage strategies to support individual short- and long-term goals.

Caillie offers an extensive background in client relationship management to her role as Private Banker. She draws on more than 5 years of experience within RBC commercial markets. 

After earning a Degree in Finance from UBC, Caillie has continued to deepen her knowledge and expertise with key industry designations such as Personal Financial Planning (PFP). Away from the office, Caillie enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the beauty the province of BC has to offer.

Kim currently resides in Mission. When she is not hard at work for her clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, either at a hockey rink or baseball field, depending on the season.

She also enjoys the outdoors, camping or kayaking, working out and taking her dog on long walks.
