Running Reflections: Separating Noise From What Truly Matters

In a world where we’re constantly connected,

it’s easy to blur the lines

between noise,

information,

entertainment,

and infotainment.

It’s also easy to fall into the trap of thinking there’s one right answer.

But life isn’t black or white - it’s a spectrum, a continuum of perspectives and possibilities.

One skill we all need to practice, to hone, is critical thinking.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on something I heard while listening to Yuval Noah Harari’s books (Homo Deus, Sapiens, 21 Lessons for the 21st Century).

He makes an interesting distinction:

Our brain is simply an organ - a network of neurons, synapses, and biochemicals.

Our mind is something more.

It’s where we process experiences.

The way we interpret.

It holds our emotions - pain, pleasure, anger, joy.

The mind is a lens through which we think, reason, question, and make meaning of the world around us.

Interesting, eh?

How do you separate the noise from what truly matters?

And how do you sharpen your critical thinking?

Are you a business owner thinking about your cash-rich exit?
