It was a relatively good week for global equity markets, led in particular by the global technology sector which ultimately pushed some markets to new all-time highs.

Things were relatively calm over the past week, as evidenced by the decline in market volatility. It’s been reassuring despite the headlines around the global Covid situation that remain troublesome.

Investors are looking past Covid-19 concerns and headwinds to near-term economic growth with the view that the second half of the year will mark the beginning of a more permanent and sustainable global recovery once mass vaccinations have occurred.
