Prior to becoming an Investment Advisor in 1996, René was President, founder and partner in the commercial real estate firm which has since morphed into Plaza Corp, a TSX listed company. He gained valuable experience prior to that as President of a firm holding interests in commercial real estate, construction, franchise restaurants, building supplies and pharmacies. His first job upon graduating was in Commercial Lending with a top five bank where he spent four years.
René holds a degree in Business Administration from UNB and a MBA from Dalhousie University. He has taught business courses at the university level and given seminars on how to manage small businesses. He has been active in his community through his involvement in the United Way. He is a past President and has hosted an annual charity golf tournament to its benefit. The tournament raised over $200,000 during its ten years of existence. He has also coached baseball, hockey, volleyball and basketball at various levels.
René and team have been recognized as top performers 15 years in a row. They have positioned themselves as one of the very few bilingual discretionary money management teams in New Brunswick. They have an excellent relationship with their partners at the bank level.
Outside of work, René and wife Lori enjoy outdoor exercise, yard work and spending time with friends.
