We’ve come to realize that clients from all walks of life are in search of a few key things: clear communication, meaningful collaboration, and all-encompassing coordination of their financial affairs. We’re proud to have established a knowledgeable team of financial experts that place these priorities at the centre of our approach, working diligently alongside our partners to protect and build your wealth and, ultimately, provide true peace of mind.
Portfolio Manager & Wealth Advisor
I began my career in the financial services industry in 1989 before founding Bell Private Wealth of RBC Dominion Securities in 1993. As portfolio manager and wealth advisor, I work alongside my highly experienced team to help high-net-worth families achieve true peace of mind by managing their wealth with honesty, integrity, and humility. These values lay the foundation for the long-term, meaningful client relationships our team has been fortunate enough to make, and we remain committed to managing their wealth as carefully and meticulously as we do our own. To us, that means ensuring our clients and their families are taken care of, their wealth is protected, and in the event of the unexpected, all of their financial affairs are in order for the best possible outcome.
My education and extensive industry experience allow me to apply a high level of solution-oriented knowledge to complex client needs and situations. I obtained my Chartered Professional Accountant / Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 1992, then earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), and Portfolio Manager designations. I also hold university degrees in business (accounting) and arts (economics) from the University of Saskatchewan.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife, Shanna, our daughter, Olivia, our son, Mackay, and our dog, Nyah. Shanna and I are proud of our children’s achievements and the responsible and kind people they’ve become. Now that the kids have grown up, we have more time to travel, play golf, stay active, enjoy the family cottage, and spend time with friends. I have also been active in the community, serving on several charitable and private foundation boards, volunteering in the community with coaching, organizing, and making sure we are active donors to causes that help those in need.
Fun fact: In my youth, my favourite pastime was waterskiing barefoot, but as I have gotten older, it’s turned into pickleball. It’s not quite as exciting but fun, nonetheless.
Favourite destination: Anywhere near the ocean!
Associate Wealth Advisor
I began my career in the financial services industry in 1991 and joined Curtis at RBC Dominion Securities in 1997. As an associate wealth advisor, I coordinate each client’s wealth planning experience—from financial planning to Will and estate planning and beyond—and ensure their long-term financial strategies are on track toward success. I appreciate having the opportunity to work alongside our wonderful clients to deliver personalized recommendations according to their needs.
To better service our clients, I’ve completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH) and obtained my Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute. I am also a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
My spouse, Ian, and I have a very entertaining and busy dog, Meissa, a Catahoula-Heeler cross. With Meissa in tow, we enjoy hiking, camping, and snowshoeing. I also like cooking, gardening, yoga, art, and attending live music events in my spare time. In addition, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Ness Creek Cultural and Recreation Society.
Fun fact: I once took a surfing lesson led by firefighters in Hawaii.
Favourite destination: It’s tough to choose between camping in Western Canada, travelling to sunny beaches, or exploring further destinations. New Zealand is definitely on our bucket list.
Associate Investment Advisor
I have over two decades of experience in financial services and joined Bell Private Wealth in 2005. Focused on delivering an exceptional level of service and ensuring our clients are on track toward achieving their goals, I work with the team on portfolio management and proactive estate and retirement planning. Appreciated by clients for my patient and empathetic approach, I truly value the relationships I’ve been fortunate enough to build and always aim to provide true peace of mind in each and every interaction.
To strengthen my skills as an associate investment advisor, I’ve completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH), and Wealth Management Essentials (WME) from the Canadian Securities Institute. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce in marketing and human resources from the University of Saskatchewan.
Outside of work, I spend quality time with my spouse, Bert, and our son, Lucas, who loves playing hockey and soccer. Besides being a hockey mom and spending time with the families we’ve met through sport, I enjoy gardening, cooking, and working out.
Fun fact: I come from a large, loud, musical family, and gatherings feature my father playing his accordion!
Favourite destination: Travel has opened my eyes and mind and provided me with invaluable experiences. One of my favourite places we have visited is Croatia—it is truly breathtaking.
I’ve been part of Curtis’ team since 2015. As an associate investment advisor, I work alongside Curtis and our clients’ other wealth and estate professionals to ensure each client’s wealth management needs are met. By taking the time to get to know our clients and their families, I discover areas of opportunity to leverage my skills and connections for their benefit. I also manage our discretionary program and serve as a team resource for many wealth planning solutions.
I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce in finance. To expand my ability to help clients on their financial journey, I’ve completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH) and achieved my Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.
My husband, Brad, and I have three amazing, caring, and intelligent children—Zuri, Khalea, and Laydin—who never cease to amaze us with their passion for learning, helping, and love of life. As a family, we are always up for challenges and adventures, and enjoy creating memories together, from camping to game nights. Outside of staying active in my family life, I also serve on the elementary school parent council as treasurer.
Fun fact: I am a competitor by nature. Whether it’s for a prize, bragging rights, or a personal goal, I am all in.
Favourite destination: Home sweet home!
Associate
I have over a decade of experience in the financial services industry and joined RBC Wealth Management as an associate on Curtis’ team in 2021. No two days are alike for me, as I help our clients and all team members in a number of ways, from client onboarding to completing transactions and answering a variety of client inquiries. Clients say they appreciate my friendly attitude and prompt service, and I look forward to continuing to support them in any way that I can.
Dedicated to ongoing learning, I’ve completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH) from the Canadian Securities Institute. I also hold a Bachelor of Commerce in management from the University of Saskatchewan, Edwards School of Business.
My spouse, Toni, and I have a growing fur family with three dogs, Bell (Doxin), Angus (Great Dane), and Afro (Great Dane), and five horses, Otto, Jug, Calypso, Regina, and Brina. In my spare time, I stay active by working on the yard and barn, taking care of our animals, and going to the gym. I also enjoy golfing, fishing, and hunting.
Fun fact: I have a very strong competitive side, which I get from my mom.
Favourite destination: Good Spirit Lake—a rainy day at the lake is better than a sunny day in the office.
Bell Private Wealth makes it easy.
