Senior Portfolio Manager & Wealth Advisor
Sam is the leader of Arafat Private Wealth and has nearly two decades of financial services experience. Prior to building his practice, he spent many invaluable years in financial planning and was named one of RBC’s top 25 financial planners. Today, as senior portfolio manager and wealth advisor, Sam leverages his wealth of knowledge to assist clients and their families as they navigate the complex world of finance, helping them plan their route by providing a comprehensive roadmap and reach their desired destination through a personalized portfolio. At the end of the day, his ultimate goal is to make a difference in his clients’ lives – not only their accounts.
A Wilfrid Laurier University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Sam has since completed several industry-leading designations that strengthen his ability to provide the best possible financial advice. These include the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designations, as well as the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) credential, the highest honour offered through the Canadian Securities Institute.
Outside of the office, Sam is a dedicated family man and enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their young daughter. They share many similar interests including staying active through a variety of sports and outdoor activities. He is also a proud supporter of The Neighbourhood Organization, a Toronto-based charity that helps new immigrants grow their social, educational, and professional skills so they can contribute to building a stronger community.
Associate
Mitchell is a team-focused and client-oriented wealth professional with over five years of financial services experience. As associate, he assists with a variety of key duties, from account documentation and answering client inquiries to in-depth analysis and trading. Always one to leverage his skill set for the benefit of those he serves, he handles every client interaction with the utmost care and always strives to provide true peace of mind through an efficient and effective service.
Mitchell earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree from McMaster University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Committed to deepening his financial knowledge and sharpening his skills, he has also completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Wealth Management Essentials (WME) Course from the Canadian Securities Institute.
In his spare time, Mitchell enjoys staying active by mountain biking in the warmer months and skiing in the winter. He has also volunteered at a long-term care facility and with a variety of organizations including Burlington Able Sail, Ronald McDonald House, and DeGroote MBAs for Impact.
