Murray has been providing advice and technical support in relation to high-net-worth family wealth planning since 1994. Conversations include scenarios to be aware of in transitioning, including the costs of transitioning, your assets to your intended heirs. Additional areas of concern may include tax, asset preservation and philanthropic planning.
Murray’s expertise encompasses both domestic and international family circumstances, and in many cases is focused on the challenges of transitioning a family business. His guidance supports clients in their relationships with their external professional advisors, with whom he frequently interacts.
Before joining RBC’s Canadian Wealth Management Services team in 2008, Murray worked with RBC’s Global Private Banking group as the senior resource in their global trust business for over 13 years.
Prior to joining RBC, Murray practised law for six years in the areas of estate and tax planning, as well as various areas of business law.
Murray was a Director of STEP Canada (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners) from its inception until 2009, and has been a member of the International Tax Planning Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation over the years. He has been a featured speaker at Estate Planning Councils, Law Society and STEP practitioner education conferences in Canada and abroad.
Grant Henri, PFP, F.Pl., TEP

Grant attended Concordia University in Montreal where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1992. He holds three financial planning designations, a Specialist designation from the Trust Institute, and is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Grant has completed the in-depth tax program with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (Levels I, II and III).
Grant has over 25 years of progressive experience in various roles within the financial services field. In addition to his work with RBC Wealth Management, he is currently teaching Tax and Estate Planning courses for the Institut Québecois de Planification Financière to support the continuing education requirements of financial planners in the province of Quebec. Grant has also provided support to the Financial Planners Standards Council of Canada as a subject matter expert and has taught financial planning courses at George Brown College in Toronto.
Jim Yager, BA, MBA, M.Tax

Jim specializes in providing cross border tax planning. He joins RBC Wealth Management Services having recently retired from KPMG LLP after 33 years of services.
Most recently, he was a partner and the Practice Leader of KPMG’s International Executive Services (“IES”) practice in Canada, where he provided cross border tax and consulting services to employees, their employers, high net worth individuals and individuals with investments outside their home country. Jim was a member of the KPMG IES Global Steering Group which establishes strategies, policies and procedures for KPMG’s global IES practice.
Jim was also the practice leader for Global Wealth Services (“GWS”), which provides U.S. and Canadian income, trust and estate planning services to executives and high net worth individuals.
Prior to relocating to Toronto in June 1993, he worked in New York, Hong Kong and Miami where he served U.S. based clients expanding internationally and foreign-based clients from Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America expanding into the U.S. He and his wife, Suzanne, moved to Colorado during 2014 where he continues to practice cross border tax planning.
As both a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant and a U.S. Certified Public Accountant, Jim is uniquely prepared to provide international tax consulting services. Furthermore, having been an expatriate himself for over twenty-seven years, he is “intimately” aware of the cross border tax issues.
Mark Chan, CPA, CA, CFP

Mark specializes in tax, estate and retirement planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families. He also assists individuals facing significant life events (i.e., sale of a business, financial windfall, retirement, death in the family, immigration to or emigration from Canada, marriage or divorce, etc.).
Prior to joining RBC, Mark worked at a boutique wealth management firm where he focused on Canadian tax, U.S. tax and comprehensive wealth planning to business owners, executives, retirees and professional athletes. He also spent over a decade in public accounting practice rendering tax planning, research and dispute resolution services.
Mark is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He holds Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Mathematics degrees from the University of Waterloo.

Sara specializes in international estate planning, art collection and digital legacy planning for UHNW families in developing their wealth and legacy plans. Her guidance supports clients in their relationships with their external professional advisors, with whom she frequently interacts.
Sara has two decades of professional experience in complex estate and trust administration and planning; business succession; cross-border tax planning (STEP Advanced Certificate in Cross-Border Estates); family governance (STEP Advanced Certificate on family enterprise advising); art collection management and art estates planning (“Art as Global Business” Certificate, the Sotheby’s Institute of Art and European Institute of Sustainability, “Art Disruption,” NFTs and tokenization of Art, legal and tax planning); as well as, Digital Assets Inventory and estate management. She is a graduate of Masters in US Law at George Mason University and was called to the California State Bar in 2021. Sara achieved her Ph.D. in International Management (Behavioural Finance and Law) at the International School of Management in France, as well as completed the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, National Committee on Accreditation at UBC Peter A. Allard School of Law.

Alessandra Prioreschi, MA, JD

After completing a Master of Arts degree in English at the University of Waterloo, Alessandra obtained a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 2000. She was called to the Ontario bar in February of 2002, and commenced her career as a tax lawyer with the Toronto office of
a prominent national law firm, completing Levels I and II of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Course.
Over her years in private practice, Alessandra served a variety of business clients and their owners ranging from technology start-ups to established manufacturing, property development and retail businesses, advising on tax and estate-planning, including wills and trusts.

Matthew Knapp is a Chartered Professional Accountant, (CPA, CA). He is a graduate of Brock University, with an Honours Bachelor of Accounting degree. In her role as Manager, Financial Literacy, Stephanie oversees the RBC Wealth Management Financial Literacy program, as well as broader strategy planning and thought leadership to support and grow this area across RBC Wealth Management. Stephanie specializes in providing clients and advisor teams with support, resources and expertise in financial literacy and in building financial management skills; promoting, managing and updating existing educational content; and developing new resources. Stephanie is currently working towards a Master’s degree in education. Angus has more than a decade of experience in charitable giving and legacy planning. Together, they devise tailored giving strategies that harmonize the client's goals and values with their philanthropic aspirations and seamlessly integrate into their overall wealth management objectives.
He possesses distinctive insights gained from his involvement in establishing and managing a private foundation that provided donor-advised fund and philanthropic solutions to advisors and clients while at Gluskin Sheff. Furthermore, his extensive knowledge of legacy planning, capital campaigns, and intricate gift structures stems from his previous roles with SickKids Foundation and RBC Royal Trust.
Angus is a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP), co-chair of the GTA CAGP Education Committee, and faculty member of the National CAGP Estate Fundamentals course. He has achieved his TEP designation from STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
Clive Slade brings over 30 years of international banking experience to his role as a Private Banker. His banking career started (1990) in the UK with Barclays Bank Plc. He was based in the beautiful English Lake District; mastering each role progressing to management before making the move to Canada.
In 2003, Clive moved to Canada, and with that, RBC. He had met a Canadian girl who was travelling her way around Europe and the UK. She brought him to Canada where they have now been married for over 20 years.
While working for RBC in various Senior Leadership roles, he earned his Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation. Clive's last role was as a successful, award-winning, Commercial Banker. As a trusted strategic advisor, he brings strong relationship management skills to his high-net-worth clients in London and the surrounding area.
