While Fall tends to be a short season in Calgary, there is nothing quite like the colours it surrounds us with.  We have been blessed with some mild temperatures which have allowed us to embrace the outdoors just a little longer this year.

There is no way around the hard work. Embrace it.

This is also a month when we take some time to reflect on all the things we are grateful for around us.  We wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving.

Winning at Tennis and Markets

In both tennis and markets, consistent success often comes down to small margins. Just as a player who wins slightly more points than they lose eventually wins more matches, in the markets, even a marginal winning percentage can lead to long-term gains. Over time, these small but consistent wins compound, turning minor advantages into sustained success. Whether on the court or in investing, its not always about big wins – steady, incremental gains can be the key to lasting success.

Cyber Awareness

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of protecting ourselves online. With cyber threats always changing, it is important to stay informed about the ways to protect both our personal and professional information. This month we encourage everyone to strengthen their online security habits from creating strong passwords, to recognizing phishing scams. We can all help keep our digital lives safe and secure from these criminals.

Team Update

We hope everyone had a fantastic and memorable summer! Around here, we made the most of the sunshine and enjoyed some great activities. We took advantage of Fish Creek Park, just across the street from our office. Walking and exploring the park gave us the perfect excuse to get outside and take in the fresh air. We also did not miss getting some ice cream at Annie’s café. Colette also completed the Race for the Kids at Heritage Park. Not only did she complete the race, but she also raised the most funds for our branch! Shoutout to Mark (Farris) who showed up at the race with a thoughtful bouquet of flowers to cheer Colette on. We also took on a new challenge – learning how to play pickleball. We had fun picking up the sport together and maybe a few sore muscles!

September also marks a couple great milestones.  On September 23rd, Colette celebrated 22 years with the team and September 28th marked May’s 2nd year with us.  I am very grateful for their friendships and all that they bring to the team.
