As an Investment Counsellor, Sandra provides discretionary investment management to affluent individuals and their families, corporations, trusts and estates, and not-for-profit organizations.
Sandra believes that building personal relationships with clients is paramount to gaining the trust and level of understanding that is required to transform client goals into customized investment strategies. She emphasizes ongoing communication with clients to ensure that those strategies are continually refined to reflect changes in client objectives, while maintaining the appropriate balance, unique to each client, between growth and preservation of assets.
Sandra views her role as more than an investment manager for clients as she embraces a comprehensive approach to helping clients address all of their wealth management needs. She is capably supported by a team of tax, legal, estate planning and business owner specialists within RBC who work closely with clients' existing advisors to design and implement strategies to mitigate risk, minimize tax, plan for retirement, and transition wealth to the next generation.
Prior to joining PH&N Investment Counsel in 2006, Sandra worked for six years as an independent management consultant providing corporate strategy advisory to a variety of clients in the financial services and technology sectors. Previously she worked as a consultant in Corporate Strategy at CIBC where she provided strategy development, mergers & acquisitions advisory and competitive intelligence to the Bank's senior management team and Board of Directors. Her career started at TD Securities as an institutional bond trader.
Sandra has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University and a Masters of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business, York University. She is a CFA Charter holder, and member of the Toronto CFA Society. She volunteers with the Alumni Mentorship Program at Schulich School of Business, and is a member of the Oakville Curling Club. She enjoys curling, skiing, windsurfing, and running in her spare time. Sandra and her husband live in Burlington with their three children.
