As a Senior Investment Counsellor with RBC PH&N Investment Counsel, Matteo applies his diverse experience in portfolio management, investment counselling and financial planning to provide discretionary investment management services to help his successful, highly valued clients achieve their long-term goals and aspirations.
Matteo is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and holds the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation. He is a member of the Responsible Investment Association (RIA) and was named as a finalist for the 2020 Wealth Professional Advisor of the Year – Responsible Investments award.
Matteo enjoys working with a select number of clients who value his personalized service and disciplined global investment approach. He employs an in-depth discovery process to elicit a comprehensive understanding of each client’s unique financial circumstances and works in collaboration with in-house Financial Planning, Tax and Estate Planning specialists, along with his clients’ existing advisors, to develop sophisticated, customized and creative wealth management solutions. Matteo is also supported by a team of key investment managers in strategic markets around the world.
Prior to joining the firm, Matteo held the role of Portfolio Manager with another boutique investment management firm, where he helped manage a large portfolio of discretionary client assets. He also co-managed the firm’s Canadian Equity and Enhanced Income funds while acting as Chair for the Asset Allocation and Investment Review Committees.
During his various tenures, Matteo has led presentations to clients and financial professionals across Canada. He has been featured on the Business News Network (BNN) television channel as a commentator on markets, economics and investment products and was an occasional instructor for the Passing the Canadian Securities Course at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.
Matteo is active in the community, serving as the former Chair of Women's Brain Health Initiative's Young Person's Cabinet and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Kensington Health Foundation. He lives in Toronto with his wife, Sarah, two daughters and dog.
