Josée Dumas has been working in the Canadian and international investment management field since 1989, including over 20 years with RBC PH&N Investment Counsel. As an Investment Counsellor, she provides investment management services for high net worth clients (individuals and their families, foundations, trusts and corporations). Several other services related to wealth management are also offered.
Since 1989, she has held a variety of positions including research analyst and financial advisor for individuals, companies, pension funds and the government. From 1990 to 1997, as head of international financing for the province's Finance department, she negotiated and traded financial structures and carried out the resulting transactions with investors worldwide, in addition to giving speeches and meeting with key stakeholders in the stock and bond markets in the major international financial centres (New York, Frankfurt, Zurich, Geneva, London, Paris and Amsterdam). She was involved in currency management for the Quebec government's bond portfolio.
Josée is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the CFA Institute, an American-based association of financial analysts from more than 100 countries, the CFA Institute (Quebec) and the Cercle finance et placement du Québec (CFPQ). For three years, she taught derivatives to CFA candidates and corrected the exams at the CFA Institute’s test centre in Virginia. She has also taught finance, portfolio management and management probability theory at Université Laval. She is also a member of the CFA Institute (Quebec) and Reuters Quebec. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
In 1987, Josée earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from Université Laval, with three years of honours work as well as merit scholarships. She later earned a master’s degree in finance jointly, from York University in Toronto and Université Laval in Quebec City. She wrote her thesis on portfolio management.
