As Senior Investment Counsellor, Joan Wiggins provides discretionary investment solutions to high-net-worth individuals and families. Drawing on her extensive experience and knowledge, she manages portfolios for clients’ taxable accounts, registered assets, investment holding companies, trusts and private foundations.
To create an extended team of banking, estate planning, tax and legal professionals to meet client needs, Joan works closely with a client’s existing tax and legal advisors and with RBC partners such as Private Banking, Estates & Trust, and Financial Planning. While Joan’s clients are principally located in British Columbia, she is also registered in other Canadian provinces so that she can meet the needs of families whose members are geographically dispersed.
As a CFA charterholder, Joan has been involved with CFA Victoria as Past President and a board member for many years, actively promoting the CFA designation and the high standards of ethical and professional conduct that the charter represents in the investment community. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Joan has been involved with a number of community organizations in Victoria over the years, such as Pacific Opera Victoria, the Vancouver Island Roundtable of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and the Victoria Estate Planning Council. In addition, Joan has presented to the annual conferences of Leave a Legacy and Community Foundations of Canada.
