Alison manages discretionary portfolios for private clients and clients in the non-profit sector. Her focus on comprehensive wealth management brings in elements of financial and estate planning.
Alison graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and continued her education by earning her Chartered Accounting designation in 1991. While at a national chartered accounting firm she specialized in offshore trusts, financial institutions and investment companies. In honing her focus on investment management, she achieved her Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1995. Prior to joining Phillips, Hager & North in 1997, she managed discretionary private client investments at a national investment-counselling firm.
Alison develops an understanding of her clients’ financial goals and personal values in order to identify their investment, retirement, tax and estate planning needs. She then creates a customized strategy that is monitored and adjusted to accommodate the changing market environment and the evolving needs of her clients. Communication is an integral part of this approach; her goal is to gain a thorough knowledge of her client’s financial affairs so she can provide valued advice for the management of their wealth.
She has a personal interest in non-profit sector and is actively involved in several organizations in her community. She lives on the North Shore with her family where she likes to trail run and mountain bike.
