The flurries over the weekend definitely reminded us that winter is coming. Many on the team look forward to winter for ski season, particularly Kieron and Michelle. As avid skiers, when the cold temperatures start to arrive and snow falls, their excitement builds. However, not everyone on the team shares their enthusiasm for the cold weather. Nicky much prefers the warm and sunshine, you won’t see her on the ski hill!
Last month our team took part in the RBC Race for Kids, in support of McMaster Children’s Hospital. McMaster Children's Hospital including Ron Joyce Children's Health Centre operates the largest child & youth mental health program in Canada, including both an inpatient and outpatient program. Last year nearly 240,000 patients were provided care in south-central Ontario. Many on our team took part in a 5km walk, and together with our branch we raised $1,857. Financial Health
This month is Financial Literacy Month. Having a good foundation of financial knowledge is key for financial health and wellness. Stephanie Dean, Manager of Financial Literacy for RBC, met with Noah Booth, Canadian youth author of A Rich Future to discuss a few key financial concepts in this audio recording (29 min). Throughout their conversation they outline Six Financial Literacy Principles that are core concepts to help build sound financial management in youth. When it comes to financial education, it’s never too early or too late to start.
