A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, Jerrod obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance while playing three seasons with the Hockey Huskies. Jerrod places a high degree of importance on education, achieving the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and prestigious Fellow of the Securities Institute (FCSI) designations.

Jerrod began his professional career in 1999 in the credit union system before becoming a partner in Wellington West Capital in 2001, a Western Canadian privately owned investment firm acquired by National Bank of Canada in 2011. In 2015, Jerrod accepted an offer to join RBC Dominion Securities, and continues to provide professional investment management and planning for high net worth families. Jerrod works extensively with institutional clients including non-profits, Hutterian Brethren and municipalities.

Jerrod was elected as a Swift Current City Councillor in 2003, 2006 and in 2009 as the youngest Mayor in the history of the city, pursuing innovative solutions and partnerships and devoting tremendous energy to improve the quality of life for residents. Jerrod was acclaimed in 2012 and served as Vice Chair of the Municipal Finance and Inter-governmental Arrangements Committee on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Vice Chair of the Saskatchewan City Mayors Caucus and was the founding Co-Chair Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame. Jerrod retired from local government in 2016 to focus solely on his investment clients.

Jerrod was a Saskatchewan Ambassador at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, was awarded a Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013, named as one of Saskatchewan’s top future 40 under the age of 40 and has been featured in Advisor’s Edge magazine. Jerrod enjoys golf, hockey and sports of all kind along with travel and spending time with his wife Kelly (a three time Olympian) and their family.
