Tom Faught began his career in the financial industry in 1983 after attending the University of Calgary. Throughout his 30 years’ experience in the industry, he has gained a vast amount of knowledge and respect from many of his peers. Tom takes pride and believes that his clients are of the utmost importance and he always strives to go above and beyond in his client service relationships.

Through his many years in the industry Tom has held various positions in many cities across Canada. Originally from the Ottawa valley, Tom has also held positions in western Canada and southern Ontario but ultimately found his home in Timmins in 1989. During his time in Timmins he has always been actively involved in many sporting clubs and support foundations. In his free time, Tom enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting. Tom and his wife of over 25 years have three children and one grandchild.

Thomas Faught began his career in the investment industry in 2013. Thomas showed interests in the investment industry throughout his engineering studies and decided to transition into the industry after working in his field of study for nearly five years. Thomas's previous employment included a large engineering firm and most recently Bombardier Transportation. Thomas has completed his Canadian Securities Course and Codes and Practices Handbook Course through the Canadian Securities Institute. Thomas also maintains and holds his professional designation obtained through his previous career. Thomas is passionate about learning and understanding all aspects of the financial industry and is actively continuing his studies to advance within his new career path.

Thomas enjoys spending his free time enjoying outdoor activities. You may see him on the ski hill, fishing, hunting, or snowmobiling to name a few. He also enjoys spending time in the gym with his friends and competing in Crossfit competitions across Ontario.

Connie Freitas

Will and Estate Consultant

Connie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1989 and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1992. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1994.

Prior to joining RBC, Connie practised law for 18 years. As a partner in a mid-sized full-service law firm, her practise was varied and covered the areas of corporate/commercial law, real estate, and wills, trusts and estates law. In that role, Connie advised her owner-manager clients on a broad range of business and personal needs, from purchases and sales of businesses, to shareholder agreements and corporate reorganizations, to will and estate planning.

For many years Connie taught the Business Law section of the Bar Admissions Course and was involved with preparing the licensing exams for Ontario lawyers. Throughout her career, Connie has been involved in her broader community, serving on many non-profit boards as well as providing pro bono legal services.

Steven Mogdan, CA, CFP.

Financial Planning Specialist

Steven completed his Bachelor of Business Administration at York University in 1989 and subsequently completed the CICA In-Depth Tax course. He has also achieved the advanced designations of Chartered Accountant (CA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

During his time as a tax and financial practitioner with several professional service firms, Steven specialized in Canadian, U.S. and cross-border personal income taxation, and provided planning and preparation services to clients. He also has professional experience with the RBC Tax Advisory Group and RBC Dexia, where he provided tax advice to various business units within RBC.

As an experienced practitioner in financial matters, Steven has written or contributed to many research articles, industry publications, training materials and client presentations.

Steven’s role as a Financial Planning Specialist is to work with, and support, your advisor in preparing and presenting comprehensive financial planning solutions.
