Tim Corney is an established investment professional with over eighteen years of experience servicing clients and managing multi-billion dollar investment portfolios on behalf of RBC Dominion Securities.
Tim began his career at RBC Dominion Securities in 2001 as an Associate Investment Advisor and worked his way up to Head Office where he spent the majority of his career as an Equity Portfolio Advisor to other senior RBC Dominion Securities Investment Advisors. Tim would provide guidance on optimal portfolio construction, security selection, and macroeconomic affairs. During this time, he was the Committee Chair for the U.S. Focus List, and an equity selection committee member for the Canadian Focus List, which in total is responsible for over $20 billion of RBC’s private client wealth. He also co-managed equity portfolios directly on behalf of clients totaling over $1.5 billion of assets.
Tim holds an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the highest distinction in the investment management profession.
On a personal note, Tim grew up in Barrie, Ontario where he spent his summers boating with his parents on Lake Couchiching, golfing and enjoying the outdoors. Tim is also an avid fly fisherman and accomplished guitar player.
In December 2019, Tim, his wife, Ruth, and their three sons, Noah (6), Elias (4), and Samuel (2 months), moved to Minesing, Ontario to be closer to family, and to provide his kids with a similar upbringing that he enjoyed growing up.
