Danielle received her Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in finance, from Concordia University. Immediately following graduation, she began pursuing her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, which she completed while working for a discretionary investment firm. This was a very influential opportunity for her to gain front line experience on how major market events such as the 2008 financial crisis can impact planning and retirement.
Danielle is actively involved in her community and commits her time to helping various charities. She served as a Director for the Association of Women in Finance (www.womeninfinance.ca) from 2012 to 2017, including serving as President of the board from 2015 to 2016. Having had the opportunity to lead a board was incredibly gratifying for Danielle not only for the impact the organization had, but also for the many relationships that were built during her tenure. Today, Danielle continues to engage and assist with many women-focused charities as a liaison for RBC Dominion Securities. She also donates her time to mentoring young women including through the UBC Sauder School of Business Mentorship Program.
When not working or volunteering, Danielle dedicates her time to family and sports. She and Brent welcomed their baby girl, Kate Nichols, in May 2018. Becoming a mother has been an incredible experience for Danielle and she is looking forward to introducing baby Kate to many activities in the future. Danielle’s primary sport is soccer and she continues to play competitively for a Vancouver-based women’s team. Beyond soccer, she loves cross-country skiing, hiking, running, and lacrosse.
