After graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1972, Gary spent time working at Dofasco driving overhead bridge cranes, all the while saving money to enable him to tour Europe on the hitch-hikers budget plan. Upon returning to Hamilton he worked in the sales department at Dofasco primarily selling steel to the bustling automotive industry. In 1977, Gary migrated west to Vancouver, where continued to work in the steel business, then onto the newspaper business in northern B.C. until he finally found his niche in the financial industry in 1987. Gary moved to Vernon in 1994 to open and manage a competitor firm, and then joined RBC Dominion Securities in 1999.Gary has been a regular annual member to the firm’s Achievement Council’s, which recognizes Advisors for outstanding service and performance. In 2011 Gary was promoted to Vice President and Investment Advisor for his continued commitment to those high standards.


 Gary holds a firm belief in the benefits of cash flow in a client's portfolio. The value of dividends from high-quality companies, and income from bonds of similar corporations have helped Gary's clients weather the many storms that have buffeted the markets over his career, while also providing clients with steady income that allows them to enjoy a their lifestyle.


When not working Gary and his wife love to ride their beloved Harleys on tours, take pleasure in golf, and in the winter months they enjoy Mexico and the winter sports at the local ski mountain.

Scott joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2005 and brought a decade of experience within the financial services industry with him. As an Investment Advisor and Certified Financial Planner, Scott focuses on helping families and business owners identify their lifetime financial goals and objectives. By listening to his client’s unique experiences and dynamic financial challenges, he is able to understand their needs and provide solutions that help achieve their goals.


Scott follows a disciplined and personal approach to the wealth management of each client. A tailor-made plan can effectively address the segments of a client’s financial world. Beginning with a long-term investment strategy, Scott and his team will create a supporting financial plan with a strong focus on retirement savings, income planning and risk-minimizing strategies to help you achieve your goals. 


Scott has successfully undertaken a number of industry designations to assist him in the pursuit of providing exceptional service and advice to his clients. In 2010 Scott received his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation to complement his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations. Scott was awarded the prestigious designation of Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) in 2005. Recognized as the highest honor in the Canadian financial services industry, the FCSI designation is only bestowed upon those whose training and experience exemplify excellence.


Scott and his wife Beth, have two children, Jackson and Kate. Together they enjoy spending time on the local Okanagan lakes boating and camping in the summers and taking advantage of the exceptional ski resort at Silver Star Mountain in the winter months. Scott enjoys golfing, hockey, skiing and reading in his spare time.

Tanis Hornhardt, BA

Tanis was born and raised in Vernon. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology from the University of Victoria. She began her financial services career at RBC Royal Bank in 2004. She joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2006. Before joining The Cooper Boyd Wealth Management Group in 2011, Tanis worked in many areas of the branch, developing an impressive knowledge base of the investment services business, which benefits client portfolio administration and helps the team deliver exceptional client service. In 2007, Tanis became a licensed associate after successfully completing the Canadian Securities Course and Conducts and Practices Handbook course.


Tanis is responsible for our clients’ day-to-day administration needs. She handles any inquiries promptly and efficiently, ensuring a high level of personalized service.

Tanis and her husband Luke, have two young sons Ryder and Kolten. They enjoy family time outdoors, including skiing in the winter, and weekends on Shuswap Lake in the summer. In her spare time Tanis enjoys softball, snowboarding and reading.

Megan was born and raised in Vernon. She joined RBC Dominion Securities in the Spring of 2015. She joined the Cooper Boyd Advisory Group with administration experience and customer service skills. Megan spends her weekends enjoying the outdoors spending the weekends on the water, taking the dogs for a hike, and quality time with her family.
She is a driven individual who looks forward to enhance your level of customer service. She will be able to help you with the general administration of your accounts if there are any questions.

Brad Boback, CA, CFP
Financial Planning Consultant

Brad graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. Brad then articled with a national accounting firm where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation and gained experience in auditing, accounting and taxation. After a number of years working in the Oil and Gas industry Brad then entered the Financial Services industry and soon thereafter achieved the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, Brad worked with various national Wealth Management firms as an Investment Advisor and Financial Planner. His experience includes providing financial planning services to high-net-worth clients, and assisting with their taxation, investment, retirement planning and estate planning needs. He brings extensive knowledge and expertise to our team as a Financial Planning Consultant.

Brads role is to work with, and support your Investment Advisor in preparing and presenting comprehensive financial plans.


Nicole Todosichuk, B.Comm, LL.B, TEP
Will & Estate Consultant

Nicole received her Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Deans List) in 1991 and her Bachelor of Law degree in 1999 from the University of British Columbia. She clerked at the British Columbia Supreme Court from 1999 to 2000 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2000. Nicole has also completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth Tax Course.

Prior to joining RBC, Nicole practised law for ten years in downtown Vancouver, first at a national law firm and then at a boutique tax and trust law firm. Nicoles practice focused on the implementation of tax and estate plans, Wills, domestic and offshore trusts, charities and business succession. Nicole is a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Canadian Bar Association Wills and Trusts Section and Charities Section and the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. Nicoles significant practical experience in estate planning allows her to offer valuable guidance in the development of your estate plan.


Stephen Miziolek

Stephen has practiced in the financial services industry since 1982 and is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). Prior to joining RBC, he held various client advisory and senior management roles.

Working closely with your advisor, Stephen employs a comprehensive process to assess your wealth management needs and then recommends creative, tax-exempt insurance strategies to help address them. For more complicated situations, he works with your other professional advisors in the development of appropriate solutions.
