Mary received her Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University in 1988 and her Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Marys University in 1990. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Chartered Accountant and has completed and tutored the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax Course.
Prior to joining RBC in 2008, Mary was providing professional services to individuals and their owner-managed entities, specializing in tax planning. During her career, Mary has been employed by two of the large public accounting firms where she advised on the tax consequences of mergers, reorganizations along with estate and trust planning.

Sharon Avery, LL.B. Will & Estate Consultant
Sharon was in private practice with a large regional firm, and practiced in the areas of medical defence, health law, estate litigation, Wills, estates, and trust prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities.
Sharon is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Halifax Estate Planning Council. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of Mount Saint Vincent University and on the Canadian Bar Association's National Standing Committee for Equality. Sharon has volunteered with numerous charity and community organizations over the years. She chaired Mount Saint Vincent's Project 2012 capital campaign Business and Tourism Committee and has served on Boards for many charities including Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic, Spina Bifida Association and Crime Stoppers Nova Scotia.
Sharon's role is to work closely with Ron to provide you with information on structuring your estate in an efficient and tax-effective manner.
