Senior Portfolio Manager, Investment Advisor & Financial Planner
Whether skippering his sailing crew or working alongside his clients to help them accomplish their goals, Robert is a problem solver at heart. “Seeing my task as a puzzle and figuring out how the pieces best fit together has always been incredibly rewarding and motivating for me,” he says with pride.
While he aspired to become a jazz musician in high school, Robert decided early on to pursue two other passions that had more of a measurable impact on the lives of others: business and economics. After attending McMaster University and earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Robert was recruited directly by RBC. He joined the bank and quickly attained his Financial Planning designation. Robert then served as an investment retirement planner for over seven years and was consistently ranked as the top performer in Hamilton, eventually transferring to RBC Dominion Securities in 2011 as an investment advisor to start his own practice.
To further his professional credentials, Robert earned his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute, and has now completed his Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designation. As an FEA, Rob can advise on a wide range of business issues, and work closely with your team of professionals to develop solutions that put your family first.
Today, at the helm of Thomson Wealth as senior portfolio manager with more than 20 years of financial experience, Robert takes pride in capitalizing on opportunities for his clients in investment, retirement, and estate planning. “I love working alongside a team that’s dedicated to providing clarity, accountability, and trust to our clients,” he says.
Outside of work, Robert is an accomplished sailor in the Laser, Tornado, and Aykroyd classes. He served as the commodore of Stony Lake Yacht Club for three years and was on the board of directors for over 15 years. He also volunteers as a board member for the Ontario Paraplegic Foundation and remains active in his local community.

As the first point of contact for our clients, Dijana takes pride in ensuring these interactions are only the start of meaningful relationships built on trust. “Whether it’s providing a level of comfort during onboarding or getting you answers to your financial questions later on, I’m here for our clients,” she says.
Dijana began her career at RBC over 25 years ago. Having worked for many years at the branch level in a variety of roles, from teller to account manager, Dijana moved to private banking, where she got her first taste of working in a team environment. “I loved a team-oriented atmosphere and a customer-first mentality, which sticks with me to this day.” After serving in her role for seven successful years, Dijana joined Thomson Wealth as an associate.
Today, Dijana keeps our team on track through her efficient and effective processes, including managing our schedules, arranging reviews, preparing account openings, and onboarding, which all amount to an unparalleled level of care.
In her free time, Dijana enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Associate Advisor
A graduate of Queen’s University's Bachelor of Science program, Tara turned her childhood aspiration of helping people through healthcare into helping people in another key area – their finances. “I like solving puzzles and figuring out the small details that can help improve the financial lives of our clients,” she says.
Starting her career as a sales associate at one of Canada’s oldest brokerage firms, Tara completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH) prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities in 2004 as an associate advisor.
Today, with over 20 years of financial service experience, Tara works closely with Robert in portfolio management, financial planning, estates, and other areas of the practice, investigating problems and delivering solutions perfectly tailored to our clients’ needs. “For me, it’s all about working in a team atmosphere that puts integrity at the forefront of everything we do to deliver an exceptional client experience.”
Outside of work, Tara is an avid reader and loyal listener of the CBC. She and her family enjoy exploring Hamilton, where they live, and going on road trips to hike and canoe in the back woods of Canada’s Parks, stopping in at all of the dusty book shops along the way. She is a long-time supporter of CAMH and also Interval House of Hamilton, a women’s shelter offering counselling and support.
Financial Planner
Passionate about forming meaningful relationships with clients by getting to know what matters most to them, Bhavna brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry to our team. Having started her career at RBC, Bhavna has served in various positions in numerous departments, including customer service advisor, personal banker, senior account manager, and financial planner, to name a few. Equipped with her Professional Financial Planning (PFP) designation, Bhavna is excited to work collaboratively with Robert to develop custom roadmaps for clients to help define their legacies for future generations.
In her spare time, Bhavna loves to travel when she can, but is also happy to explore the local Halton area with her husband and two kids. She also enjoys reading and has tended to a home garden worthy of envy for many years.
