Kelly Rivard, Will and Estate Planning


Kelly received her law degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1993 and was called to the bar in 1995. She practised in the areas of litigation, family law and estate planning at a law firm until joining a major trust company in 1996, where she worked in a variety of roles involving estate administration and planning. Kelly joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2003.

Kelly received her Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation in 1998 and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) as well as the Law Society of Upper Canada. She has recently completed Parts I and II of the CICA in-depth tax course.

Kellys significant practical experience in the estate planning and administration field, coupled with her financial planning expertise, allows her to offer guidance on both the tax and personal implications of your estate plan.

Joel Cuperfain, B.A., LL .B., LL .M., CLU , TEP

Vice President and Estate Planning Specialist
Joel specializes in insurance and estate planning. His expertise includes personal and corporate tax, estate planning and estate administration, as well as taxation of charities and charitable donations. A graduate of Brandeis University, Massachusetts, he received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1992. Joel received his Masters in Tax Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2001.
As an Estate Planning Specialist, Joel brings over 20 years of insurance industry expertise to RBC. He has spoken at several seminars and conferences on life insurance, tax and estate planning issues for the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Institute for Chartered Accountants, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Canadian Association of Family Enterprises. He is past President of the Estate Planning Council of Toronto. Joel has published articles in the Canadian Tax Journal and the Canadian Business Law Journal. He is the founding co-editor of Canadian Taxation of Life Insurance.

David Vander Voet

David Vander Voet brings more than a decade in financial services to his role as Private Banker. He provides personalized, discreet financial counsel to a select group of clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Drawing on his varied experience in banking and investments, Mr. Vander Voet partners with his clients and their families to deliver sophisticated banking, personalized short- and long-term lending solutions and flexible credit packages. Through the RBC Financial Group, he then co-ordinates a team of experts who provide investments, business banking, and domestic and international trust solutions, enabling him to deliver comprehensive financial strategies.
Because he works with a relatively small number of clients, Mr. Vander Voet is able to ensure responsive service and the level of attention his clients require to make their lives simpler. When necessary, he will work with his clients’ other professional advisors to deliver integrated financial solutions.
Mr. Vander Voet has completed the Canadian Securities Course and earned his Personal Financial Planner designation. He holds an Arts degree from York University.
Married for 10 years, Mr. Vander Voet has two young sons. He is actively involved in hockey and other sports, and also enjoys golf, travel and cooking in his spare time
