Phil graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, before obtaining his LL.B from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1979. After a stint as a professional hockey player in France, Phil worked as a senior executive for 13 years with a major aircraft manufacturer.
After completing the Canadian Securities Institute requirements with Honours, Phil became an Investment Advisor in 1998. He also holds a Life Insurance Underwriters License (levels 1 and 2) and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
