Just as your life involves more than investments, so will your relationship with Paul. Paul has been in the investment industry since 1996. Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, he worked as an equities and fixed income trader. As an economist from Concordia University, Paul is respected for his expertise of what it takes to be successful in different market conditions. Always looking to improve himself, Paul has obtained his Certified Investment Management (CIM®) and Portfolio Manager (PM) designation.

Paul is a member of St. Mary’s Society and has volunteered time on many different fundraising activities in and around the city. Paul is also President of the Canadian Armenian Business Counsel. Paul enjoys being involved in community life. He has been coaching boys basketball for several years and also plays a few times a week. Paul is an active member of the Sanctuaire Sporting Club and a friend of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

Paul's associate, Melissa Lequin, is a devoted team member and is dedicated to offering excellent service. She joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2008 after completing her Bachelors degree at Concordia University. In 2009, Melissa passed the Canadian Securities Course in order to strengthen her skills and provide superior client service. Melissa is very dynamic and competitive. She participates in different running competition in the Montreal region and she also practices Yoga several times a week.

Daniel Duchesne
Estate Planning Specialist

Daniel began his career in the insurance industry in 1993 and is an expert in the field of insurance, having spent his career utilizing insurance products to help clients achieve their wealth management objectives as well as their financial and estate planning goals.

Daniel has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Laval University and has earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Financial Planner (Fin.Pl.) designations. He is a member of APFF (Association de planification financière et fiscale du Québec) and IQPF (Institut Québécois de planification financière), and is pursuing a Specialized Graduate Diploma (D.E.S.S) in taxation at HEC de Montréal

Michel Betournay

Financial Planning Specialist

Michel Betournay obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (major in accounting) from HEC Montréal in 1991, and earned the Financial Planner designation from the Quebec Institute of Financial Planners (IQPF) in 2002. He joined RBC Financial Group in 1993, and has nine years’ experience as a Financial Planner, seven of which were spent with the Compass Financial Planning team. Michel’s role is to work with Paul in preparing and presenting you a comprehensive Compass Financial Plan with recommendations specific to your situation.

Your plan will consider strategies to maximize your cash flow, reduce taxes, ensure your retirement lifestyle, protect your financial security, transfer wealth to the next generation tax-efficiently and make the most of your philanthropic legacy.

Bonnie Kaplan

Will & Estate Consultant

Along with her LL.B. conferred by the Université de Montréal, Bonnie holds an M.A. (education) from the Université de Montréal and a B.A. from McGill. She was called to the Barreau du Quebec in 1996. Prior to joining RBC, Bonnie specialized in questions of estate law during five of her six years in private practice. She is an active member of The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (Quebec chapter) and the Canadian Bar Association (Quebec chapter). Bonnie’s role on the team is to provide you with information on structuring your estate in an efficient and tax-effective manner. Following your meeting, we will provide you with a report outlining various estate planning issues for you to explore in further detail with your own lawyer, notary or accountant.
