Paul lives on the outskirts of Ottawa in Manotick Station with his wife Rosanna. His two children, Bradley and Leah are presently living on their own while they attend university.
Paul attended Carleton University and obtained his Commerce degree with a special focus on Investment and Corporate Finance in 1984. While attending university Paul started his career at Royal Trust in the spring of 1985.
Besides working in the branches, Paul was also able to work in the Mortgage and Loan department as well as the Investment and Trust department over the summers. Thanks to this experience, upon graduation Paul was very fortunate, as a job was already waiting for him at Royal Trust.
After 3 years in management, Paul decided that he enjoyed managing money and dealing with clients much more than managing a bank branch. Throughout most of his time at Royal Trust Paul concentrated on developing not only investment solutions for his clients but providing Estate Planning advice as well. Paul has delivered over 100 seminars on Estates and Trusts.
In 1995, soon after RBC took over Royal Trust, Paul made the logical transition to our new sister company RBC Dominion Securities, Canada’s premiere Investment Management firm. Since then, Paul has been able to build a very successful and very personalized business.
Paul continues to seek out knowledge not only through mandatory industry requirements but through external sources. Over the past few years Paul has taken courses at St. Paul’s University in their Conflict Studies Program. This stimulating program led to Paul’s new business focus in Sustainable, Socially Responsible (SRI) or sometimes referred to as Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Investing.
He became a member of the Responsible Investment Association in 2011. In 2014, Paul received his Sustainable Investment Professional Certification (SIPC) offered through Concordia University. Now Paul is well on his way to becoming one of the leading Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) specialists in the region.
