Omar Shash brings over a decade of experience in the financial service industry to his role as Investment Advisor at RBC Wealth Management. He offers wealth management and investment advisory services as a means to protect and enhance his clients’ assets. He also extends a broad range of related services including financial planning, private banking, estate planning and insurance through RBC’s network of financial specialists. Omar services high-net-worth and UHNW individuals, families and private corporations, throughout Canada, the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
Speaking English, French, Arabic and German allows him to communicate with most his clients in their language of preference. He prides himself in building long-term relationships. With respect to his personal approach, he often hears from his clients that he cares and listens to them closely in order to understand their personal and financial needs.
Omar holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance with honors from Concordia University and a Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and a Professional M.B.A. from McGill University. He holds securities registrations in both the U.S. and Canada. Omar also acts as a mentor for undergraduate students at Concordia University and is a McGill Professional MBA Ambassador.

Karen Loupelle joined RBC Financial Group in 1991 and has gained a unique understanding of high-net worth clients’ needs through roles with Royal Trust, RBC Investments, and RBC Dominion Securities. Mrs. Loupelle has earned the Financial Planner designation granted by the Institut québecois de planification financière (IQPF) in 2004. She has 13 years of experience as a Financial Planner, ten of which were spent with the Compass Financial Planning team dealing with high-net worth individuals, and she is studying for her CPA with McGill University. Karen’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting comprehensive Compass Financial Plans.
Bonnie Kaplan LL.B., TEP

A lawyer specializing in estate law for more than fifteen years, Bonnie Kaplan has worked with thousands of clients over the years to help develop effective estate plans from a tax, personal and legal perspective. Bonnie left private practice with a Montreal law firm in 2003 to join RBC Wealth Management in its early stages. As a senior member of the Wealth Management team, Bonnie meets with high net worth clients – entrepreneurs, philanthropists, retirees, singles and couples – to discuss tax and estate strategies tailored for the particular client situation. Along with her LL.B. conferred by the Université de Montréal, Bonnie holds an M.A. (education) from the Université de Montréal and a B.A. from McGill. She was called to the Barreau du Quebec in 1996. Bonnie has, also, completed Parts I and II of the CICA (now CPA) In-Depth tax courses. Bonnie is an active member of The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (Quebec chapter), the Canadian Bar Association (Quebec) and the Association de Planification Fiscale et Financière.

He has earned the titles of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Financial Planner (F.Pl.) and completed a master’s degree in business administration (MBA). He is currently completing an advanced graduate degree in taxation at HEC Montréal. He takes an integrated approach to assessing clients’ positions, helping them optimize and transfer their assets with advantageous tax treatment.
