Senior Portfolio Manager & Wealth Advisor
An interest led Michelle to wealth management. A persistent passion brought her back.
The child of a finance professional, Michelle inherited a keen interest in the world of finance. Having graduated with honours from Western University’s economics program, Michelle followed her father’s footsteps by joining a small brokerage firm as an advisor. She soon put her career on pause to care for her three then-young sons, but “I missed it,” recalls Michelle, who says she still followed the markets and read business news. “It was clear where I wanted to be,” she says.
With renewed fervor and sharp certainty in her calling, in 2010, Michelle earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and founded Nickel Wealth Management. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to help build and protect her clients’ wealth, an endeavor that has earned her a spot among a select group of the firm’s high-performing advisors.
Michelle has seen firsthand the incredible trajectory that taking one step at a time can fuel, and it’s a mentality she brings into all aspects of her work, be it advising clients, managing investments, or executing on the business’s strategic direction.
Born and raised in Toronto, Michelle lives in the city with her husband and sons. She volunteers at her local school and minor sports organizations. In her spare time, she can be found with her family at the cottage, or at her local community hockey rinks or sports fields.
Senior Associate Advisor
Mary has more than three decades’ worth of finance experience, which all began in 1985 when she flew the nest, moving from Calgary to Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, a short-term job offer, and long-term hopes of making it in the country’s financial epicentre.
After handling foreign currency at a travel agency, she worked at the large cash desk of a major advisory firm. Though her first day was October 19, 1987 – none other than Black Monday – Mary calls it an auspicious start. Mary later landed a role as an associate for an advisor at an independent firm, which would go on to be acquired by RBC Dominion Securities.
Going from working primarily with numbers to working primarily with people proved the perfect fit for Mary, who worked diligently to garner clients’ trust and improve their lives. In 2016, Mary found her professional match in Nickel Wealth Management, and joined Michelle with their shared vision to offer the best service to their clients.
A certified Professional Financial Planner (PFP) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Mary uses her expertise to help clients navigate investing needs, as well as provide long-term solutions to wealth management and financial planning issues. Mary is also licensed to offer insurance solutions for wealth, tax, and estate planning.
Mary enjoys keeping active when not in the office, including activities like biking in summer and Nordic skiing in winter. She is keen to master hobbies new and old, which run the gamut from reading to cooking to playing the piano. She also enjoys travelling with her husband; the two have seen much of Canada together, and are always eager to return to Europe.

Nicholas has always had a sharp, analytical mind, but it's his passion for helping people that really sets him apart.
Nicholas began his career with RBC in 2014 as a summer student in automotive finance, and later moved on to serve ultra-high-net-worth individuals in private banking, delivering complex financial solutions and dedicated advice to some of Canada’s wealthiest families. In his personal life, Nicholas keeps his mind sharp with word games, puzzles, and trivia. He is also a black belt in Wado-Kai Karate and enjoys travelling the world with his wife.
