Nick offers private investment planning and wealth management to affluent individuals, families and businesses. With industry experience that goes back to the mid-1990s, he has honed his ability to guide clients through their various life stages and all market cycles.

Nick’s commitment to providing superior financial advice has been recognized by his inclusion in the firm’s Chairman’s Council, an award given to the top 4% of Investment Advisors across the country. He has also been appointed Vice-President of RBC Dominion Securities and holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).

A dedicated athlete, Nick played for the Canadian National Rugby Team from 1998 to 2001, has served on the Bayside Rugby Club executive committee and today coaches youth rugby and soccer teams in South Surrey. Nick supports many local charities but most of his philanthropic efforts are geared toward fundraising for families with autism where he has been recognized as the top fundraiser in BC for the Walk Now for Autism Speaks organization. Nick is a proud father of an autistic son so he knows the challenges autism brings to families. Nick and his wife, Martina, live in South Surrey with their daughter and three boys.

Following his graduation from the University of Victoria with a degree in Economics, Edward increased his skill set by working for a financial planning firm in the United Kingdom. After a number of years abroad, he returned to Canada and joined RBC Dominion Securities, Canada’s leading provider of wealth management trusted by over 400,000 clients worldwide. Ed currently holds both the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations, along with securities, options, derivatives,  insurance (LLQP) licenses and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).

Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, Edward captained and played for the Canadian National Men’s Rugby Team from 2001 to 2012.

He made 57 international appearances for the national team and competed in the 2003, 2007 and 2011 Rugby World Cups.

Ed’s philanthropic efforts have centered on giving back to different community across the country. He has been involved with KidSport, The Canadian Rugby Foundation and Habitat for Humanity. He currently lives in South Surrey with his wife and two daughters.

Dana obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Calgary in 2002. She was called to the Bar in Alberta in 2003 and in BC in 2005. Prior to joining RBC, Dana has been a litigator at a mid-sized law firm in Calgary and she has run her own practice consisting of estate planning, real estate development and small business matters. Dana is a member of both the Alberta and BC Law Societies, the Canadian Bar Association Wills and Trusts Section and a member of the Professional Women's Network. Dana's role with RBC Dominion Securities is to review and restructure your Will, Estate and Trust matters to ensure that your plan is organized in an effective and tax-efficient manner.

Tara Pedersen, CPA, CGA

Financial Planning Specialist 

Tara is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA). She graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Accounting from British Columbia Institute of Technology. Tara has also completed all three levels of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Course. Prior to joining RBC, Tara was a tax manager at one of the leading international public accounting firms. In her previous role, she worked with private companies, high net worth individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates. Her work included tax minimization through appropriate tax planning (corporate and personal, including estate planning) and corporate restructuring.

Aileen LaBorie

Estate Planning Specialist, High Net Worth Planning Services

Aileen obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from UBC and graduated from Dalhousie Law School. She was called to the Bar in BC and Ontario in 2004. She has completed her CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course, parts 1 and 2. Prior to joining RBC, Aileen practiced law in Vancouver and Toronto. She specialized in estate planning, trusts and tax litigation until joining a major trust company in 2005. In 2009, Aileen joined RBC, assisting clients with their overall tax and estate planning, and in 2014, assumed her present position, specializing in assisting high-net-worth clients with their succession, tax, retirement and estate planning.


Tony Markin

Tony has over 20 years of experience providing solutions in the areas of tax, business succession, estate planning and inter-generational wealth transfers while working both in public practice and the financial services industry. Tony is a Chartered Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner. He holds a Masters in Business Administration in Global Asset and Wealth Management from Simon Fraser University as well as a Bachelors of Commerce from Sauder school of Business at the University of British Columbia.
