As an Investment Counsellor with RBC PH&N Investment Counsel, Michael provides discretionary investment management support to his clients in Vancouver and across British Columbia.
Michael has over 20 years of industry experience including his time at RBC PH&N Investment Counsel. Prior to joining the firm in 2009, he spent six years with RBC Royal Bank, most recently as a Financial Planner, in the Whistler market.
Working with a select clientele, Michael tailors investment strategies consistent with the individual needs, circumstances and preferences of his clients, who include high-net-worth individuals, businesses, trusts and foundations. By working with a smaller client base, he is able to foster lasting relationships and provide personalized portfolio options. In doing so, he is supported by a team of tax, financial and estate planning specialists, and individually selected investment managers in key markets around the world.
In addition to his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, Michael holds an MBA in Global Asset and Wealth Management from the Segal Graduate School of Business at Simon Fraser University and the Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.
Michael enjoys being active in his community and is a member of the CFA Institute, Chair of the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation and Panel Member of the Student Investment Advisory Service, part of a Simon Fraser University (SFU) Endowment Portfolio managed by Master of Science in Finance program candidates. In addition, Michael has taught professional development courses on wealth management and related matters to local professional associations.
Michael currently works in our Royal Centre office, but spends much of his time actively meeting with clients throughout the Fraser Valley. Michael lives in Langley with his wife, Carrie, and their two children, Ariella and Everett.
