Investment Advisor
As an investment advisor, Max empowers clients to achieve their goals at all stages of their lives through comprehensive wealth management. The discipline and work ethic Max learned as a swimmer competing across North America for 13+ years give new meaning to the word “dedicated”.
Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, Max spent nearly six years in a leading investment management firm's global wealth and asset management division. There, he serviced hundreds of investment advisors across Canada. From small independent firms to credit unions to billion-dollar portfolio managers, he learned what can make or break a successful advisory operation.
During the pandemic, Max successfully helped advisors navigate the noise and uncertainty surrounding the markets and was ranked as one of Canada’s top consultants by Environics Research in that year. This helped catapult his region to a record-breaking 2021 and led to Max’s promotion to District VP. In that role, he took a region with little affinity with the firm and grew the business 20x year-over-year.
Today, Max combines his consulting expertise, strategic insight, and extensive network to provide sophisticated solutions to his clients. Thanks to his participation in two business ventures – owning a slice of an award-winning distillery in Scotland and a Canadian technology company specializing in sports markets – he understands the unique needs of entrepreneurs. He also holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and is insurance licensed.
Max earned a dual master’s degree in international relations and business management from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Upon graduation, he took on a Training Analyst role for a gold mine in Nunavut to further expand his horizons. The role provided him with a solid foundation of logistics, procedures, and building long-term strategies.
Outside of work, Max enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends. Physical activity remains a key part of his life to balance out his weakness for delicious food. Max is also an avid participant in his Alma Matter events for Upper Canada College and the University of St Andrews.
