Marcus Schalkwijk is an Investment Advisor based at RBC Dominion Securities in Barbados. In this role he is responsible for the management of investment portfolios for high net worth individuals, families and private investment companies.
Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities in October 2013, Marcus spent five years in a similar advisory role in London with a leading US global investment bank. Before this, he spent a consecutive seven year period with another top-tier investment bank, based at different times in Amsterdam and London, over a period from 2001 to 2008.
Born and raised in the Netherlands, Marcus holds the Investment Advice Diploma (ASCI) and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) in the UK. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, which he earned in the Netherlands, and a Master of Science in Marketing, which he earned while studying in the UK.
Outside of work, Marcus enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, scuba diving and other outdoor activities.
