Florence is both a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) and a U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA, Vermont USA). She has over 20 years
of tax experience including 6 years as a tax practitioner at one of the leading international public accounting firms.

Prior to joining RBC, her role as a manager in the cross-border tax group included Canadian and U.S. personal tax planning and preparation for a variety of individuals including high-net-worth, U.S. citizens resident in Canada, and Canadians owning U.S. properties. She also provided tax planning consultations for employees of private Canadian corporations working or transferring cross- border. Additionally, her prior career experience involved Canadian corporate and trust tax planning and preparation services.

As a Financial Planning Specialist, Florence’s role is to work with and support your RBC advisor in preparing and presenting your Compass Financial Plan and to identify and assess any related financial, tax and retirement planning concerns you may have.

Avideh Parent is an experienced lawyer with a strong commitment to educating people on the importance of estate planning. Avideh is a frequent presenter on Wills and Estates for organizations such as the Legal Education Society of Alberta, the City of Edmonton, Next Step Continuing Education, and the Edmonton Community Foundation. Avideh also has been featured on Global TV, Shaw TV, and various financial education websites.

Avideh received her undergraduate degree from Carleton University and went to Law School at the University of Alberta. In 2001 she was called to the Alberta Bar and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta. Avideh holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation, granted through the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Prior to joining RBC in 2012, she devoted her law practice to Wills, Estate Planning, and Estate Administration.

Avideh is also very active in the Latin dance community, and enjoys travelling the world to perform and compete with her husband in salsa dance competitions.

• Elder Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association;
• Edmonton Estate Planning Council;
• Oliver Centre Board of Directors.

Having begun his career in the financial services industry in 2003, Denny has a range of experience working in both sales and management positions. He prides himself on fostering high-trust relationships and matching client goals with ideal solutions. Specializing in working with families, professionals and business owner clients, including extensive work with physicians, Denny offers unique and customized life and living benefits insurance-based solutions to meet your needs.

Denny is an active member of ADVOCIS, The Financial Advisors Association of Canada, which is the oldest and largest voluntary professional membership association of financial advisors and planners in Canada. He previously held a five-year board member position for ADVOCIS at the Edmonton Chapter.

As a Premier Banking Advisor for Edmonton and area, Shane works as a single point of contact, providing banking and credit solutions for select clients, and their families, of Wealth Management Canada. Partnering with investment Advisors and Councilors across the Region, he provides personalized service with tailored advice to help clients save time and effectively manage their day-to-day banking needs.

With more than 23 years of experience in financial services with RBC, Shane is respected by his clients, his peers and the industry. He has received Top Performer recognitions, i.e. RBC Annual Convention Winner, 2 RBC Gold Awards and represented RBC as an Olympic Torch Runner at the Vancouver Games. Shane is committed to giving back to his community, and has volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club, Junior Achievement of Alberta, and the Zebra Center throughout the years.

Born and raised in the Maritime Provinces, Shane has called Alberta home for over 15 years. When he is not hard at work for his clients, Shane enjoys training for, and running, Marathons. Other pursuits include squash, landscaping, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
