The Portfolio Process
Our job as your investment advisor and financial planner is to understand your unique goals and work within the constraints that are specific to your circumstances to build an investment strategy that enables you to attain your goals without taking unnecessary risk.
Together, with guidance from RBC’s global team of research analysts, portfolio strategists and economists, we’ll create a custom portfolio that’s designed to maximize returns within a given level of fluctuation while also maintaining stability of capital by incorporating a diversification of equities, bonds, cash and private equity and/or alternatives, where appropriate.*
- We believe in buying high quality, dividend oriented businesses that are positioned for steady long term growth, complemented by stable and expanding companies that are leading innovation in their industries.
- Where the data supports owning index strategies, we incorporate industry-leading ETFs to make the most efficient returns in the category.
- Finally, we leverage some of the best institutional investment managers in the world who have an extensive team of research analysts with expertise in optimizing return and managing risk in the categories that are outside of our immediate scope.
- Like all businesses, we recognize that the investment industry is constantly evolving. As such we consider alternative investment strategies, private equity, and specialty asset classes where there is a demonstrated track record and significant due diligence.
We will monitor the portfolio and, when appropriate, recommend changes to reflect current market conditions. We will also review the portfolio on a regular basis to ensure it is meeting its stated objectives.
We believe that tactical asset allocation can create value for your portfolio. As such we maintain continuous oversight of the global macro conditions in the economy and stock markets to take advantage of opportunities to enhance return or to reduce risk. This also includes insights from the RBC Investment Strategy Committee, comprised of RBC’s senior economists, portfolio strategists and research analysts.
The result? An investment portfolio designed to meet your needs, both now and in the future, with a disciplined process to help keep you on track to achieving your goals.
