Dan has been an Investment Advisor with RBC Dominion Securities in Kamloops for over 25 years and specializes in the discretionary management of multi-manager, pension-style portfolios. With over 20 years of institutional experience, Dan is highly skilled at bringing governance, process and discipline to the management of large Private, Foundation, and First Nation portfolios.
Dan is one of the few professionals with formal training in the field of ‘Family Enterprise Advising’ (Sauder School of Business, UBC, 2012). Having experienced the start-up, growth and sale to Kellogg’s of a successful multi-generational family business, Dan has unique insight into the personal dynamics and issues facing enterprising families.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with Distinction, from the University of Saskatchewan (1992) and is a founding member and past president of the Kamloops Estate Planning Council.
Dan lives an active outdoor lifestyle comprised of horseback riding, mountain biking, snowboarding, canoeing and sailing. Other pastimes include the challenge of slack-lining, unicycling, and yoga. Dan has traveled extensively and has taken self-guided, self-catered adventures throughout Canada, Africa, Australia and the South Pacific with his wife Wendy and their sons Ethan, Eric, and Samuel. Dan is a founding member and past president of the Thompson Valley Archery Club.
