Inter-Generational Wealth Management
Transforming Family Wealth
When our clients begin working with us, they are starting a unique long-term relationship. Wealth management is an ongoing process to help guide you – and your family – through each stage of your life. We take the time to develop a thorough understanding of you and your family and what matters most to you.
The steps for educating the family are different for everyone but generally:
- Making the family members aware of the various structures.
- Beginning to involve the children in general discussions (rates, economics, macro etc.).
- Beginning to allow the children to observe quarterly decision-making in the holding companies.
- Eventually allowing the children to participate in decision-making.
We follow a disciplined process to keep you on-track to achieving your goals.
This process keeps us all focused on what’s important – helping you live life they way you want.
General Steps We Follow

Meet with our Wealth Management Group including our internal lawyers and tax advisors to analyze the structure of the estate as it currently stands.
-
Consider potential structural changes to minimize tax.
-
Consider potential structural changes to ensure the passing of control is as per the client’s wishes.
-
Build a financial model that projects the cash-flow and income requirements of the family.
-
Determine the correct asset allocation from the model.
-
Build out a portfolio to match the allocation demanded by the model. This portfolio can be ETFs or stocks and bonds, depending on clients’ wishes.
-
Plan to meet quarterly, potentially rebalance.
