Chris Poad brings 21 years of experience in the financial industry, with 17 years focused in wealth management for high-net-worth clients, to his role as an Investment Counsellor managing private client discretionary portfolios for individuals, their families and their companies.
Chris's diverse scope of work experience has prepared him to address a broad range of client needs. Prior to joining RBC PH&N Investment Counsel, Chris was Senior Portfolio Manager and Investment Counsellor for two national investment firms, one of which catered to medical professionals. Before this, he was a Portfolio Associate providing equity and economic market research, trading securities and providing company and economic commentary to Investment Counsellors and high-net-worth clients. He has also worked in the Corporate Finance and Treasury Service department for a major Canadian financial institution and in the mining and retail industries.
Chris graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a bachelor's degree in administrative and commercial studies specializing in information technology and an honours degree in geography focusing on urban development. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations, and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Toronto CFA Society.
An avid traveller and sports enthusiast, Chris enjoys downhill skiing, scuba diving, golf, baseball, photography and music. He is married with two daughters, and volunteers with community theatre in Oakville and Burlington.
